About the role

We are seeking an experienced and creative Venue Manager to manage our team at Aster Cocktail & Wine Bar in the heart of Melbourne. As the Venue Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, developing food and wine events across the year, and overseeing our marketing. This is a full-time position based in our Melbourne CBD location.

What you'll be doing

• Manage and oversee all venue operations, including staff scheduling, inventory management, and budget control
• Lead and motivate a team of bartenders and support staff to deliver outstanding customer service
• Ensure compliance with liquor licensing regulations and all relevant health and safety standards
• Develop and implement marketing and promotional strategies to drive increased footfall and revenue
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, providing coaching and mentorship to staff
• Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders to maintain the venue's high standards
• Monitor and analyse venue performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance profitability

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar venue management role within the hospitality industry
• Proven track record of successfully managing and leading a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to deliver exceptional guest experiences
• Strong financial management skills, with the ability to develop and monitor budgets
• In-depth knowledge of liquor licensing regulations, occupational health and safety requirements, and best practices in the hospitality industry
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders
• Passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to delivering high-quality products and services
