About the venue

The Hastings Hotel is a community-focused, traditional pub located in the heart of Wauchope, just 15 minutes west of Port Macquarie on the beautiful NSW Mid North Coast. Boasting a newly renovated public bar/TAB, gaming room and entertainment area and the #1 bottleshop in town we cater to all segments of our local community. Further works (currently at DA stage) will ensure this iconic venue is at the forefront of hospitality offerings in the region well into the future.

About the role

The VENUE MANAGER (VM) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the hotel's operations, ensuring excellent customer experience with a high standard of service in a safe and compliant environment. Ultimately, the VM is accountable for the financial performance of their venue: Revenue, GP%, Expense Management (Labour the priority), HR and Compliance will all require focus and dedicated management.

In this instance the Venue Manager will have the benefit of a significant renovation providing additional scope to make a real difference to an already solid business. We are looking for a hospitality specialist to optimise our investment in this great community.

Key Responsibilities

Full responsibility for the venue’s P&L performance

Assisting with budget creation and financial planning

Supporting capital expenditure projects to enhance the venue

Community leadership and engagement

Understand the importance of and foster a culture of living by Flower Hotels ‘Core Values’

Ensuring an outstanding customer experience

Leading, developing, and mentoring staff

Driving marketing, promotions, and events to increase revenue

Strengthening and driving the gaming culture within the venue

Managing expenses to budget, including labour costs to budgeted %.

Analysing financial reports and implementing strategic actions

Understanding local competition and their offerings.

About You

Previous experience in a licensed venue management role

Current RSA, RCG, ARCG certifications (Advanced Licensee accreditation preferred)

A customer-centric, team-oriented leader who is passionate about hospitality

Strong ability to work under pressure and problem-solve

A commitment to community engagement and being a positive local leader

A strong work ethic, integrity, and resilience

Understand proper prioritisation and urgency required to succeed
