Assistant Venue Manager – Riverside Café, Bar & Restaurant

Love hospitality and looking for your next step in venue management? We’re on the hunt for an Assistant Venue Manager to help lead our team at our vibrant venue in the heart of Elizabeth Quay. Open from 7:30am every day until 3pm, with dinner services on Fridays and Saturdays until 9pm in the summer months, we provide a range of experiences throughout the year.

About the Role

As Assistant Venue Manager, you’ll work closely with the Venue Manager to keep things running smoothly, whether it’s leading a busy service, keeping customers happy, or making sure the team is motivated and supported. You’ll be hands-on, tackling everything from staff management and stock control to ensuring we deliver quality food, drinks, and service every time.

What You’ll Be Doing

Supporting the Venue Manager in the day-to-day operations

Leading shifts and ensuring service runs seamlessly

Training and mentoring staff to bring out their best

Managing stock, orders, and supplier relationships

Maintaining high standards of food, beverage, and customer service

Handling customer feedback with professionalism and care

Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations

What We’re Looking For

Previous experience in a similar role (or strong supervisory experience looking to step up)

Barista experience is highly preferred

Current Approved Managers Card

A passion for hospitality and creating great guest experiences

Strong leadership and people management skills

The ability to stay cool and organized in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge of bar and restaurant operations, stock control, and compliance

Availability for a mix of days, nights, and weekends
