Venue Manager - Pleasure Club, Newtown

Pleasure Club is one of Newtown’s premier cocktail and live music sanctuaries, combining exceptional drinks, lively energy, and a welcoming atmosphere. As part of Odd Culture Group, a pioneering hospitality collective, we are searching for a dynamic and experienced Venue Manager to lead the charge and drive the venue to new heights.

About the Role:

This is a hands-on leadership role supporting the General Manager. This role is suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and is highly experienced in late night compliance. You’ll be responsible for every aspect of the venue’s success - from team culture and operations to beverage program innovation and delivering an exceptional guest experience. What You’ll Be Doing:

Driving Operational Excellence

• Oversee daily trade, revenue, product sales, and venue performance.
• Implement smart stock control and cost management to keep the business profitable.
• Streamline processes to ensure seamless service and operational efficiency.
• Implement and uphold systems and processes to improve efficiency and streamline operations.

Leading & Developing a High-Performing Team

• Cultivate a team culture based on professionalism, respect, and collaboration.
• Mentor, train, and develop staff, ensuring they grow within the business.
• Build a workplace where creativity, accountability, and inclusivity thrive.

Beverage Program & Next-Level Customer Experience

• Work closely with management and head office to ensure the beverage program and service aligns with the venue’s creative vision and guest expectations.
• Monitor guest feedback, identify trends, and implement improvements to enhance the overall beverage experience.
• Create a hospitality experience that starts the moment the doors open and lasts until the last guest leaves.
• Empower the team to consistently deliver outstanding service, creating authentic, lasting guest experiences.

Ensuring Compliance, Safety & Venue Integrity

• Maintain full compliance with RSA, liquor licensing, and fire safety regulations.
• Uphold a fair and balanced approach to venue management, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable environment for both guests and staff.
• Train and support staff in managing late-night patron behaviour with patience, perspective, and clear communication.
• Ensure accurate incident reporting and adherence to company policies.
• Set clear accountability standards for the team, ensuring consistency across operations.
