As we expand, we seek a Production Assistant with substantial experience in procuring consumer electronics from China, ensuring compliance with Australian standards, and managing complex supply chains.

Role Overview
The Production Assistant will oversee the procurement and production processes of our consumer electronic products, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with Australian regulations. This role requires extensive collaboration with Chinese manufacturers, management of long lead-time components, and co-ordination with internal teams to maintain seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Management:

• Source and procure consumer electronics from Chinese suppliers, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers to facilitate smooth operations.

Product Certification and Compliance:

• Ensure all products meet Australian standards and obtain necessary certifications for electronic imports.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes and implement necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.

Supply Chain Coordination:

• Manage the logistics of importing electronic products, including customs clearance and documentation.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders and customs brokers to ensure timely and compliant product delivery.

Inventory and Component Management:

• Oversee the ordering and inventory of long lead-time components to prevent production delays.
• Implement inventory control systems to optimise stock levels and reduce holding costs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Work closely with internal teams, including product development and quality assurance, to align procurement with company objectives.
• Provide regular updates to management on procurement status, potential risks, and mitigation strategies.

Key Requirements

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years in production or procurement, specifically in sourcing consumer electronics from China.
• Proven track record in managing product certifications and ensuring compliance with Australian electronic import standards.

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong understanding of Australian regulatory requirements for electronic products.
• Excellent communication skills. Mandarin being an advantage, not required
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex supply chains and coordinate with international suppliers.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
