If you have trade and/or mechanical experience, enjoy problem-solving in a small supportive environment, and wish to develop and grow, we want to hear from you.

About Adaptive Manufacturing:

At Adaptive Manufacturing, we’re a proud South Australian family-owned company with over 44 years of experience in the automotive and engineering industries. We specialise in offering our clients up-to-date integrations, including wheelbase extensions and GVM upgrades, and are an Integrated Partner of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. As an ISO 9001 accredited company, we are committed to quality, health and safety and customer satisfaction.

Role Overview:

As the Technical & Production Coordinator, you will play a vital role in the smooth and efficient running of our production processes. You'll work as a facilitator between our customers, workshop team, and spare parts department to ensure high quality vehicle modifications. You’ll use your strong mechanical background and leadership qualities to motivate teams, promote efficiencies, and ensure that all procedures are followed, developed, and revised.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Facilitator Between Departments: Act as the liaison between the customer, workshop and spare parts teams to ensure smooth communication and workflows.
  2. Production Scheduling: Coordinate production schedules, ensuring timely completion of vehicle modifications. Promote efficiencies, strategise and problem-solve to improve workflows.
  3. Team & Technician Collaboration: Lead and motivate the workshop team, providing guidance and problem-solving solutions when challenges arise. Ensure technicians are aligned with the company's goals and project timelines.
  4. Customer and Supplier Relations: Maintain positive relationships with customers and suppliers, ensuring high-quality service and smooth vehicle logistics.
  5. Continuous Improvement: Monitor and revise processes and procedures to ensure the highest standards of efficiency and quality. Be proactive in identifying areas for improvement.
  6. Mechanical Understanding: Use your trade experience and mechanical knowledge to ensure proper execution of vehicle modifications and troubleshooting when required.
  7. Technical Data Management: Oversee the uploading of vehicle data, conduct quality audits, and ensure compliance with all relevant standards.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Vehicle Mechanical Understanding: Familiarity with vehicle components and modifications.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to strategise, come up with solutions, and ensure that challenges are overcome efficiently.
  • Effective Communication: Clear and concise communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Adaptable and Diverse Skill Set: A versatile individual with the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Passion for the Automotive Industry: A genuine interest in automotive trade and vehicle modifications.
  • Technician Management Experience: Proven ability to manage, motivate, and guide technicians to ensure project success.

Skills and Personal Attributes:

  • Organizational Skills: Excellent at time management, multi-tasking, and prioritising tasks.
  • Attention to Detail: A focus on quality and ensuring procedures are followed to the highest standard.
  • Self-Starter: Motivated and able to take ownership of responsibilities without constant supervision.
  • Microsoft Office Proficiency: Comfortable with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook for daily operations.
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills: Have strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities. You should excel at analysing issues, identifying root causes, and developing practical solutions.
  • Coachable & open to feedback: Be open to learning and growth. You should be receptive to feedback, eager to improve, and willing to adapt to enhance your skills and performance.

Qualifications:

  • Unrestricted Full Driver's License: Required for vehicle testing and transportation.
  • Automotive Experience: Prior automotive experience with parts or stock management is an advantage but not essential.

If you're passionate about the automotive industry, thrive on a challenge, and possess a diverse skill set with a motivating nature, this is the perfect role for you. Apply now by submitting your resume and cover letter detailing your experience. We look forward to hearing from you.
