Overview

The Kahan Group is seeking Venue Managers that is responsible for the FOH operations of their venues to ensure profitable event delivery with relation to food and beverage services. You will also be responsible to lead a team of managers and casuals to build positive relationships with customers to ensure a positive experience. You will also ensure the venue is compliant with liquor licensing regulations and able to operate under government regulations. In partnership with the directors, you will also oversee and under the commercial aspect of the business, including but not limited to stock management, labour cost & cash handling.

Daily Task

  • Leading operations & team of F&B
  • Ensuring outstanding customer service
  • Overseeing the set-up & pack down of the venue
  • Efficient rostering
  • Event planning
  • Menu design & POS implementation
  • Sourcing of equipment & consumables for service
  • implementation of systems and processes
  • Any additional task to benefit the venue’s profitability that is set out by the General Manager & Directors

Functions & Events

  • Liaising with the events management team to ensure profitable events are situated throughout the year
  • Work with contractors to ensure a successful event
  • Build relationships with event’s organisers to ensure repeat business
  • Identify strategic opportunities for revenue growth either by developing sales or having efficient overheads
  • Communicate events to the rest of the team
  • Maintain the venue’s brand identity at all times
  • Work with the marketing team with the delivery of communicating the message of an “unforgettable experience”

Venue Operations

  • Oversee the operations of the venue including any events outside the venue using the companies brand name
  • With the directors contract and coordinate with suppliers to ensure the timely and efficient set-up and ongoing maintenance of the venue
  • Ensure venue security is maintained and staffed appropriately to ensure a safe environment for all patrons
  • Keep an updated register off all official documents needed for operations (ie RSA & Vaccinations register)
  • Lead the implementation of the venue’s OH&S framework
  • Provide a superior level of customer service, handling customer complaints and dealing with issues that arise
  • Proactively providing staff with updated training to ensure product & venue brand knowledge is consistent and providing a positive customer experience.

Administration and Finance

  • Manage the reporting and reconciliation of venue finances, monitoring income and expenses and providing regular updates and reports to General Manager and Directors
  • Monitor gross profits in all departments and negotiating deals with suppliers to ensure we are always profiting
  • Ensure accurate payroll structure weekly
  • Deliver a labour forecast on a weekly basis and identify variances on actual sales vs labour reports
  • Deliver training and standards to the management team to ensure consistency throughout the venue’s operations team.

Bar Management

  • Provide overall direction for the venue’s bar, including designing product offerings.
  • Sourcing, rostering and coordination of staffing requirements for the bar operations of the venue.
  • Perform as duty manager where required, including supervision of bar staff and ensuring cash procedures are adhered to
  • Maintain relationships with external suppliers
  • Manage the bar manager to understand gross profits and ensuring a stock variance under .5%
  • Maintain RSA register, ensuring all liquor licensing requirements are up-to-date and in line with current legislation

Kitchen Management

  • Work in partnership with the head chef to ensure the delivery of menus on all occasions
  • Ensure outstanding food service to customers and consistency throughout all orders
  • Communicate revenue targets in partnership with the head chef to ensure profitability in operations
  • Ensure FOH is able to service all food seatings with sufficient consumables that are up to venue’s standards
  • Provide feedback to kitchen team and work together to improve menu satisfaction
