Experienced construction site manager required for client side role- $206k+super+ 15% bonus of full package

My client is a landmark Australian name used and enjoyed by many. Rich in profit, and aggressively looking to the future they have a huge amount of money to be spent over the next 5 years+ to upgrade and modify their existing assets. Use your construction experience to transition to the client side. With a full list of projects ready to go you will represent the client making sure all design and delivery is completed as per the client's requirements. A global name, you will oversee a real range of projects from upgrades to new build fitouts. Retail, fitout, food and beverage, small civil works, projects ranging from $1m- $20m.

Your new role
Being the client-side project construction site manager you will oversee the management of all project delivery in line with expectations and standards. You will ensure projects achieve specified outcomes and meet quality expectations. Manage the oversight of specialist contractor functions relating to engineering, safety, quality and site management and supervision.

The primary purpose of the Site Manager role is to lead the process of delivery of project works, provide oversight and assistance to the Project Directors & Executive Project Managers in the execution and delivery of the contracted works by a number of difficult contractors and specialist suppliers to ensure the performance targets are met and potential sources of risk are mitigated.
Strong experience in design management, quality control, ability to manage builders effectively. The role is more of a D&C Manager.

This person would work alongside our Delivery Project Managers to support all of our projects which are live depending on their phase (design or construction) and would be a 'clerk of works' style role meaning when the project is live and under construction, they would be on the ground inspecting sites every day and feeding back into the delivery team rather than being an office based role.
I envisage that they would have rounded experience, being technical and know how to build and assist with solutions, so a D&C background and/or Site Manager background would be suited as opposed to a traditional PM background.

What you'll need to succeed

A construction related qualification, diploma, trades background
10 + years in the construction market5
5 years as a supervisor / site manager
Strong and stable background working for a Tier 1 or 2 builder - building related projects- fitout/services
Extensive experience in delivering projects $1m- $50m, 3 - 8 month timeframes
Project experience specifically in building services and fitout-related projects (not residential, civil etc)
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to build relationships with multiple stakeholders
Financially astute
Strong design reading skills
Experience ideally working in live environments
Based here in Melbourne ready to go
