Title: Venue Manager
Location: Golden Fleece Hotel, South Melbourne
Employment Type: Full-time
Golden Fleece Hotel, an enchanting oasis in the heart of South Melbourne, where the spirit of Santorini comes to life! We're a Greek-inspired venue seeking a dedicated Venue Manager to oversee and enhance operations. Our two level venue offers restaurant service, functions and events. Key Responsibilities:
- Foster fun, inclusivity, community, creativity and authenticity!
- Maintain high levels of customer service. Monitor and report on customer experiences for continuous improvement
- Train and develop staff by coordinating with external stakeholders for product & service training
- Complete management checklists to ensure operational efficiency
- Ensure food & beverage quality control measures are consistently upheld and work with the Head Chef on improvement action plans
- Manage systems & manuals to standardize operations
- Oversee venue maintenance management and budgeting
- Report directly to Directors on venue performance
- Maintain liquor licenses, planning permits, and all compliance documents
- Oversee venue aesthetics and ensure an inviting atmosphere inspired by Greek hospitality
- Maintain, update, and ensure compliance with cleaning, opening, and closing checklists
- Supervise managers and supervisors to uphold responsibilities and measure performance
- Conduct staff performance reviews and final weekly sales spreadsheet checks (wages, cash, invoices, and costs)
- Develop strategies to maximize revenue, spend per head, and overall profitability
- Generate sales leads and contribute to the sales system
- Maintain strong communication with the kitchen and marketing departments
- Take lead of Lightspeed and MenU, including new item entry, menu design and reporting
- Write rosters 2 weeks in advance, taking into account all requested leave, labor budgets and nightly bookings
- Build rapport with suppliers
- Ensure effective staff management, including recruitment, job postings, interviews, and selection
