Long established in providing child protection and family support services, Aboriginal Family Support Services (AFSS) is at the forefront of supporting Aboriginal communities across South Australia. AFSS is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation, with 450+ staff working in over 45 locations throughout South Australia and continued growth that adds to our breadth of services.
Your new role
The Accountant is an integral part of the Corporate Services Team which undertakes Administration, Payroll, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Information Technology, Finance and Reporting, Tender Preparation, Communication and Marketing, Administrative support, Reception and Asset management.
The primary function is the provision of accounting services across the AFSS programs. This involves:
- Prepare end-of-the-month reporting including P & L, Balance Sheet and Statutory Reporting including FBT, RTWSA, BAS and IPP.
- Assist with Budgets and Business partnering with Senior Managers, Managers and Key Stakeholders.
- Reconciliations, funding allocations, asset register recording and compliance
- Payroll backup
Who we are looking for
We are looking for an Accountant with proven expertise in accounting standards and processes, strong communication and analytical skills, and ideally 2-3 years' experience with CPA/CA qualification or progress. Success in our fast-paced, expanding company requires excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and multitasking abilities. You must be able to interact positively with stakeholders, be proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software, and learn new systems quickly.
To be successful you will need
- A South Australian Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- A Safe Environments for Children and Young People – “Through Their Eyes” Certificate
- An NDIS Worker Check
- A current South Australian Drivers Licence
- Unrestricted eligibility to work in Australia
- CPA/CA (or working towards)
