About the Role
The Community Participation Officer plays a crucial role in promoting community involvement and improving the wellbeing of Home in Place (HiP) tenants and the wider community. This is achieved through the planning, coordination, and management of various programs, activities, and services, including those provided at the Community Hub.

The role involves delivering community development initiatives that address local needs, helping to build community capacity and contribute to HiP’s mission of enhancing community wellbeing.

Home in Place is establishing a Community Hub in Taree, and the Community Participation Officer will lead engagement efforts with HiP tenants while supporting the Hub's development. This includes fostering partnerships and designing activities tailored to meet the specific needs of the community.

  • Strong data analysis skills to develop, monitor, and improve services
  • Experience in working to a budget, prioritising resources and providing reports to Management
  • Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of community development initiatives
  • Experience working effectively and sensitively with people with complex needs and challenging behaviours
  • Experience in securing funding or writing grant applications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintaining accurate records and reports
  • Knowledge of and experience in the social housing sector (preferred but not essential)
