Position Overview

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the production process, ensuring efficient workflow, maintaining quality standards, and leading a team of 15 staff to achieve operational excellence. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in powder coating processes, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and high-performing workplace.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily production activities to meet customer deadlines and quality expectations.
• Ensure efficient scheduling of work to optimize throughput and minimize downtime.
• Monitor inventory levels of powders, chemicals, and consumables, ensuring timely replenishment.
• Implement and maintain processes to achieve warranty-approved applicator standards.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Maintain and enforce strict quality control measures to ensure coatings meet industry and customer specifications.
• Conduct regular inspections, audits, and process improvements to uphold compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Ensure the correct pre-treatment, curing, and application processes are followed for aluminium and steel products.

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 15 staff, fostering a culture of Pride, Quality, and Service.
• Conduct performance reviews, provide training, and ensure team members adhere to workplace policies and safety standards.
• Promote teamwork and communication between production, sales, and customer service teams.

Health, Safety & Environmental Responsibility

• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations and enforce best practices in hazard management.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
• Champion environmental responsibility by minimizing waste and ensuring proper disposal of materials.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

• Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and increased efficiency.
• Stay up to date with industry advancements and introduce new techniques or technologies where applicable.
• Implement and monitor KPIs to track production performance and drive operational excellence.

Key Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in a Production Manager or similar leadership role in a powder coating, manufacturing, or industrial setting.
• Strong technical knowledge of powder coating processes, including pre-treatment, application, and curing.
• Ability to lead and develop a diverse team, fostering a positive workplace culture.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong understanding of quality control, warranty application standards, and compliance.
• Familiarity with workplace health and safety regulations.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
