We are seeking a skilled and passionate Design Engineer to join our client's team. With over 70 years of experience in the industry, our client is committed to innovation and excellence, specifically within R&D, continuous improvement, and new product development.
Their team of engineers can turn pencil drawings to reality, with state-of-the-art 3D modelling, a range of in-house machinery including lasers and 3d printers to proof test designs, and a factory dedicated to manufacturing and producing prototypes built for purpose.
About the Role
As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the full product development life cycle, from concept to completion. You will have the opportunity to work on multiple projects simultaneously, developing new design concepts and improving existing ones. Your excellent project management and people skills will enable you to effectively communicate with stakeholders, including end-users, sales staff, and other team members.
Key Responsibilities
- 3D mechanical design
- Conducting new technology studies
- Designing products from initial concept to completion
- Producing product concept sketches (2D and hand-drawn) for sales staff
- Documenting designs for manufacture and managing costings and BOMs
- Liaising with customers to resolve faults, analyze orders, and respond to queries
- Implementing process changes and continuous improvements to designs
