The Role

As an Accounts Payable Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring efficient financial transactions and maintaining accurate accounts payable records. This is a dynamic position that requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. You will also provide support and training to the business in relation to P2P processes.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Identification and reconciliation of all creditor’s payments
• Resolution of discrepancies and outstanding issues in a timely manner
• Ensuring accurate recording of liabilities and payments in accordance with company standards

• Recognition and recording of GST on invoices and statutory declarations
• Recording of supplier invoices in the general ledger
• Verification of supporting documentation, declarations, and foreign currency conversion rates
• Validation of vendor banking details and Australian business numbers
• Identification and correction of errors, omissions, and adjustments in a timely manner
• Recognition of inappropriate payments and redirection within the Accounts Payable system

• Oversee accounts payable administration to ensure efficient and accurate processing
• Review invoices and payments for proper authorisations, correct coding, and compliance with company policies
• Reconcile and enter complete and accurate creditors data into the system
• Resolve outstanding issues related to the identification, recording, and payment of liabilities, including:
• Perform prescribed checks to verify transaction accuracy, including:
• The reconciliation of all creditor’s statements
• Adhere to procedures and policies while entering payment data
• Collaborate with the Senior Accounts Payable Officer on any other administrative or accounting duties as assigned

You are a detail-oriented Accounts Payable professional. You thrive in fast-paced environments, are a proactive problem-solver and can manage multiple priorities effectively. You enjoy working independently but also collaborate well within a team.

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in accounts payable or similar role
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in handling financial information
