Your Impact:

As a full time 2IC Retail Assistant, you will play a key role:

  • Deliver sales and store contribution budgets as set on a financial year basis.
  • Develop a cohesive and effective team.
  • Ensure all efforts are made to create a safe and welcoming environment for staff and customers.
  • Ensure compliance to Good Sammy marketing, branding, POS and pricing policies.
  • Manage stock, donations and inventory to achieve best results for customers.
  • Ensure donation access and availability is maintained at all times.
  • Support and supervise Participants and volunteers.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for all staff.

What you'll do:

  • Manage the day-to-day running of the store alongside and in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Ensure employee work goals and training requirements are understood and serviced.
  • Support and supervise Participants in daily tasks and help to achieve their employment goals.
  • Manage fortnightly roster to enable maximum supported employment hours are achieved, in line with company guidelines.
  • Identify opportunities for increased sales and improved customer service
  • Ensure a safe, accessible and healthy working culture is maintained at all times
  • Provide leadership, support and training to all staff members
  • Proactively manage stock selection, ordering frequency, stock rotation, sales, promotions, recruitment, pricing, merchandising, Gold Seal selection, local area marketing, timesheets, rostering, store presentation, waste management, information technology, recycling.
  • Monitor and motivate staff members to work as a team to achieve retail aims. Engage in performance improvement when appropriate and with assistance from Good Sammy People and Culture Team with full support and coaching by the Store Manager.
  • Ensure Good Sammy's policies and procedures are implemented and maintained.
  • Contribute to the setting of daily budgets.

What you'll bring:

  • Excellent retail skills.
  • Retail Supervisory experience.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work alone and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and decision making skills.
  • Knowledge of Customer Service Standards.
  • An understanding of OSH considerations.
