About the role

The role of this position is to assist the Finance Manager in selected accounting and computing functions of the finance department:

• Support month/year end close processes including journals, reconciliations, reporting and year end audit
• Assist with month-end balance sheet reconciliations and reporting, including inventory and cost of goods sold analysis
• Assisting in BAS preparation
• Assisting with various surveys and benchmark reports
• Support annual budget process
• Collate financial data for Fringe Benefits Tax reporting
• Analyse EOM reporting findings
• Provide backup and support to the Accountant Financial Reporting
• Continuous improvement of processes, templates, tools and procedures.

About you

The successful candidate will have the following qualification, skills and experience:

• Relevant degree in accounting and certification.
• Proficient in computerised accounts receivable functions including: receipting, billing, reconciliations, journal preparation, research & resolving of discrepancies to the point of balancing, financial general ledgers, accounts payables reporting and alpha filing.
• Accurate data entry skills, attention to detail, investigative skills and information management skills.
• Ability to supply supporting documents for audits or other purposes.
• Understanding requirements of regulatory compliance and policies & procedures.
• Demonstrate understanding & experience of ATO guidelines.
• A basic knowledge of the requirements of the Aged Care Standards as are applicable to the role.
