The City of Marion is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Business Support Officer to provide high-quality administrative and business support within the Office of the CEO.
This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of Council operations, supporting the Manager, Office of the CEO, and collaborating across multiple teams to deliver efficient and responsive service to both internal and external stakeholders.
About the Role
The Business Support Officer plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Office of the CEO through exceptional administrative and customer service support.
Your day will be varied — from coordinating meetings and managing correspondence to preparing reports, maintaining records, and assisting with the implementation of process improvements.
You will be part of a fast-paced and supportive team that values initiative, flexibility, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities include:
Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
Deliver high-level administrative support including:
Managing enquiries (phone, email, and face-to-face),
Scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, recording minutes, and ensuring documentation meets corporate standards, and
Coordinating responses to complaints and correspondence in line with Council policies.
Support the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and process improvements.
Maintain accurate records and data across Council systems and databases (e.g. DocAssembler, Pulse, SharePoint).
Assist the Manager, Office of the CEO, with research, analysis, and report preparation.
Contribute to a collaborative, respectful, and solutions-focused team environment.
About You
You will bring strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain positive relationships with a diverse range of people. A willingness to work flexibly, including occasional out-of-hours work.
