Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.
Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the ‘Courts Group'.

The Security and Emergency Management Group (SEMG) within the Commercial Division portfolio, ensures CSV is adequately prepared to respond to unplanned business disruptions and emergency incidents.
About the role:
Reporting to the Assistant Director, Emergency Management and Business Continuity on a 12-month full-time fixed-term basis, the Senior Emergency Management and Business Continuity Advisor works closely with the Security and Emergency Management Group (SEMG) Emergency Management and Business Continuity (EMBC) team to ensure CSV is adequately prepared to respond to unplanned business disruptions and emergency incidents.
The Senior EMBC Advisor provides expert advice to stakeholders regarding Emergency Management (EM) and Business Continuity (BC) practices and drives the development, implementation and maintenance of high quality, responsive and EM and BC solutions and services across the Magistrate's Court of Victoria (MCV) and CSV.
Key accountabilities include:
- Modelling and driving a risk & safety management culture within MCV/CSV by providing expertise, information and advice to key stakeholders in relation to the Emergency Management and Business Continuity functions.
- Driving the development, implementation, and maintenance of high quality, responsive EM and BC services and strategies, supporting the various functions within the team to ensure consistency with organisational objectives and delivery within agreed timelines, budget, and resources.
- Leading and maintaining the design, development and delivery of training and awareness activities to ensure all occupants of a site, in particular MCV/CSV employees with Emergency Management responsibilities, understand their roles during an emergency event. Ensure all training content is aligned with the unique needs of CSV.
- Analysing data from past incidents to identify improvements in emergency, continuity and crisis response procedures, and provide advice to refine future planning and response efforts.
- Initiating the debriefing process following live emergency, continuity, or crisis incidents, ensuring reports are compiled and submitted to the relevant committees, including the Emergency Planning Committee (EPC)
- Leading the annual emergency evacuation exercise process for agreed CSV-owned court locations and provide support for other sites as required.
Regular regional travel is a requirement of the role
About you:
- A tertiary qualification in emergency management, business continuity, training and assessment or another relevant field is desirable but not essential.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in emergency management and business continuity across a range of organisational settings.
- Demonstrated experience in successfully managing stakeholder engagement processes with diverse and complex stakeholder groups.
