Ahpra’s Regulatory Secretariat team provides critical governance and secretariat support to the decision-making delegations of National Boards, State and Territory Boards, and their committees. The team ensures all regulatory meetings are delivered with professionalism, consistency and precision, providing a key support role in Australia’s national health practitioner regulation system.
We’re seeking an experienced Senior Regulatory Secretariat Officer to provide high-quality and time-sensitive secretariat support within a large, fast-paced national team. This role provides coaching and guidance within the team, drives continuous improvement and ensures effective, efficient and consistent governance processes across Ahpra.
About you
You’re a detail-driven professional with a knack for balancing structure with adaptability. You take pride in your accuracy and organisation, and you thrive on collaborating with others to deliver quality outcomes. You’re comfortable supporting complex regulatory meetings, leading improvement initiatives and helping others navigate change.
Your experience includes:
- Providing high-level secretariat or governance support in a complex or regulatory environment (public sector, corporate, or board-level).
- Managing board and committee meeting agendas, minutes and documentation to a high standard of accuracy and timeliness.
- Coaching and mentoring others to strengthen team capability and consistency.
- Building constructive relationships with senior leaders, board and committee members, and diverse stakeholders.
- Leading or contributing to projects aimed at improving systems, processes and templates.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and information management systems (e.g. Diligent, Teams).
- A flexible, proactive and collaborative approach to managing competing priorities.
