About the Role
As Senior Communications Advisor, you’ll play a pivotal role in enhancing and streamlining Swinburne’s internal and external communication strategies. Reporting to the Communications Manager, Education, Experience and Employability (EEE), you’ll plan, coordinate, and implement communications activities and campaigns to support the delivery of programs and initiatives related to the university’s EEE portfolio.
With the support of the Communications Manager, EEE, you’ll project manage communications campaigns from conception to execution, working with stakeholders across Swinburne.
From leadership messages and news stories, to social media posts and video scripts, the cross-channel content you’ll create and deliver will connect meaningfully with Swinburne’s students and employees.
Success relies on being proactive in identifying communications opportunities and appropriate channels, and building strong stakeholder relationships to ensure clear, timely and effective messaging.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
• Demonstrated excellence in communications strategy and planning.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Demonstrated problem solving skills and the ability to identify and analyse emerging opportunities with respect to their communication needs.
• Demonstrated ability to use metrics to inform development of communications and media strategy.
• Demonstrated experience working with senior stakeholders in the development of communications strategy and plans.
• Experience with issues and crisis management.
• Experience in communications and content creation in the context of student engagement.
