Five Good Friends is an approved aged care and NDIS service provider. We empower our Members (what others call clients) to live vibrantly in their own homes by building a dedicated care team around them and their families. Our innovative software handles the coordination in the background, allowing our teams to focus entirely on delivering exceptional care.

We are a workplace where purpose meets impact. Every day, our work helps people live their best lives - and that vital mission starts with our people.

As we continue to grow and support more Members across Australia, we are strengthening our People function. Our goal is to ensure every team member feels supported, developed, and set up for success. That’s where this Senior HR Advisor role comes in.

At Five Good Friends, you're among friends. This principle guides our entire People Strategy. We are committed to fostering a workplace that is dynamic, inclusive, and deeply caring. We partner closely with our leaders, champion meaningful employee experiences, and proactively support our people to thrive.

Creating an engaged, capable, and well-supported workforce requires more than process - it demands true connection, partnership, and thoughtful guidance. That’s why we’re looking for a Senior HR Advisor to help us:

Provide high-quality coaching and advice to leaders across a broad range of HR matters

Build strong, trust-based partnerships across the organisation

Help shape culture and enable teams to perform at their best

Support meaningful workforce programs that enhance engagement, wellbeing, and employee experience

Navigate complex people matters with empathy, compliance, and confidence

If you're passionate about empowering leaders, enhancing workplace culture, and building trusted HR relationships in a purpose-led organisation, we’d love to hear from you.

Because when you're among friends, you grow, succeed, and make a real difference, together.

Still need to know more before you apply…

You’ll be part of our People Team, supporting both Five Good Friends and The Lookout Way. The Senior HR Advisor plays an important role in delivering people-focused solutions and supporting leaders across the full employee lifecycle.

This role blends hands-on advisory work with the opportunity to contribute to strategic initiatives and programs. You’ll be a key partner to managers, providing guidance across performance, development, culture, and engagement — and helping us build an environment where people feel supported, respected, and empowered.

This role is full-time, however we would be flexible in consideration of this role being a 0.8 FTE.

The core responsibilities of the role include:

Providing expert and proactive HR advice across a wide range of people matters

Supporting performance management, employee relations and conflict resolution

Guiding managers through probation, performance and workforce planning processes

Conducting investigations and escalating complex matters as required

Supporting remuneration reviews, employee surveys and engagement initiatives

Leading or contributing to HR and employee experience projects

Preparing insights and reports to support workforce decisions

Playing a key role in policy development, compliance and continuous improvement

Mentoring junior team members and supporting team capability building

Do you have what it takes?

5+ years in Human Resources, with strong advisory experience

Tertiary qualifications in HR or a related discipline

Solid knowledge of awards, the Fair Work Act, NES and employment legislation

Demonstrated experience supporting performance and employee relations matters

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Digital-savvy with experience using HRIS and modern HR tools

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across teams

Sound judgement, strong analytical capability, and a solutions-focused mindset

Experience in the care, health, NDIS or regulated sectors (highly regarded)

Ability to obtain and maintain relevant police checks

You bring compassion, curiosity, and a commitment to fairness. You value confidentiality and trust, and you thrive in environments where you can make an impact, support people, and continuously improve how work gets done.

What's in it for you?

The way we work and the perks we offer are designed to help you live a fulfilling life. The work we do is meaningful, and the problems we solve are interesting.

Great pay that matches your skills and experience.

Flexible working – based at our South Brisbane HQ, with the option to work from home a few days a week.

$500 yearly wellness allowance to spend on anything that helps you feel good outside of work.

Extra time off – after 2 years, you’ll earn an extra day of annual leave each year. You can also buy more leave if you’d like.

Free, confidential counselling through our Employee Assistance Program.

Parental leave support – we top up wages for eligible caregivers, and primary caregivers get extra super during their first year of unpaid leave.

Free Five Good Friends membership (worth over $7,000/year) for a loved one receiving care.

We’re a genuinely great place to work – our employee engagement scores are 17% above the industry average.

Okinawa trip – after 5 years with us, we’ll send you to Japan to visit the community that inspired Five Good Friends. Flights, hotel, and transfers are all covered.
