We are seeking a (Technical) Business Analyst to join a major NSW Government program delivering a large-scale, bespoke cloud-based web application. This role will suit a hands-on BA who enjoys bridging business needs and technical delivery, with strong experience working in Agile environments.

You will be working within a multi-disciplinary team including product owners, developers, and solution architects on a project with high visibility and long-term scope.

Key Responsibilities

Facilitate workshops and engage directly with business stakeholders to gather and clarify functional requirements.

Perform business process mapping using BPMN

Write Epics and User Stories in JIRA for Agile sprints, ensuring clarity and traceability.

Act as the interface between business users and technical delivery teams.

Collaborate closely with developers, solution architects, and technical leads to ensure successful outcomes.

Represent business interests during sprint planning, refinements, and showcases.

Translate high-level business requirements into clear technical specifications

Essential Skills & Experience

End-to-end SDLC experience within Agile delivery environments.

Proficiency in BPMN for process modelling.

Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation experience.

Skilled in writing detailed User Stories and Acceptance Criteria.

Experience working with web-based applications (single-page apps preferred).

Desirable

Sound understanding of technical concepts including:

APIs and system integration

Basic knowledge of Angular, .NET, and MS SQL

Data dictionaries, form structures, schedulers, and data flow

Integration, migration, and gateway functionality

Experience on custom-built software projects (not COTS or configuration-based).

Exposure to user-centred design approaches.

Familiarity with Azure DevOps and related Agile toolsets.
