About the role

My client, a major NSW Government organisation is looking for a Principal Business Analyst, to assist in delivering a multi-year Digital Modernisation Strategy to transform services and decommission legacy systems. We’re seeking a Principal Business Analyst to lead business analysis across discovery, design, development, and go-live of our new CRM / BPM platform.
In this leadership role, you’ll partner with stakeholders across business and technology, ensuring user needs and program outcomes are achieved. You’ll also mentor other BAs, manage risk, and drive delivery excellence across multiple Agile squads.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead discovery, analysis, and requirements for new digital platforms and processes.
• Translate complex business, policy, and technical needs into actionable user stories and documentation.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to ensure alignment with strategy.
• Support Agile ceremonies, quality assurance, and governance updates.
• Guide business readiness, go-live, and transition to new systems.
• Lead, coach, and uplift BA capability across teams.

Skills required

• 12+ Years total experience as a Principal Business Analyst or Lead Business Analyst
• 8+ years experience leading large-scale digital or platform implementations.
• Strong background in CRM / BPM, with understanding of AI and workflow automation.
• Excellent analytical, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with NSW Government practices or ability to adapt quickly.
