Hourly rate ranging from $36.12 - $39.45 depending on qualifications and experience

About the Role
St Mary's Catholic School, Wellington is seeking a dedicated and high organised Administration Assistant / Attendance Officer to join the administration function, commencing Term 1 2026. This role is fundamental to the operational efficiency of the school office and provides administrative, financial, and clerical support to the Principal and broader school community.
Key responsibilities:
Manage school finances — accounts, payments, reconciliations, school fees, budgets, and financial reporting.
Oversee daily student attendance, absences, and data accuracy in COMPASS.
Communicate with parents, staff, and external stakeholders professionally and promptly.
Provide front-office reception, correspondence, enrolment, and general administrative support.
Coordinate school events, excursions, and bookings.
Maintain filing systems, records, and databases; administer basic first aid when required.
Ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) procedures and report hazards.

About You
- Strong administrative and organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- The ability to maintain confidentially and discretion.
- Competence in Microsoft Office, COMPASS, and financial software (TECH1 preferred).
- A proactive, flexible approach with the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- A commitment to the ethos and values of Catholic education.
- Previous experience in a school administrative environment (preferred).
- Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
