The Opportunity
The Alstonville/Wardell and Coraki/Evans Head Parishes have recently joined their offices to be co-located at Alstonville, and a rare opportunity has arisen for an Administration Officer to join the team.
The Parish Administration Officer assists the Parish Priest/Manager in the administration and pastoral activities in the parish.
This opportunity is a permanent, part-time position (18 hours per week). The work hours are 9:00am to 3:30pm - Monday and Friday plus another weekday (day negotiable).
This position is classified Level 4 under the Clerk Private Sector Award (2020). The hourly rate for this position is $31.19 ($561.42 per 18-hour week) plus superannuation, paid leave and leave loading.
Key Responsibilities
General administration, finance and secretariat duties, including meeting minutes.
Prepare the parish bulletin and post on social media and manage general updates.
Create PowerPoint presentations for weekend Masses (under the direction of the Priest).
Prepare correspondence and reports on behalf of the Parish Priest.
Create rosters for weekly Masses, altar servers, Children’s Liturgy leaders and musicians. Liaise with volunteers, parents of Altar servers, musicians and singers.
Maintain personnel and volunteer records.
Support the parish’s safeguarding practices, including Safeguarding compliance checks and records.
Selection Criteria
You will have experience in an administrative role and ready to take on a role with service to the community focus.
You will have strong verbal and written communication skills.
An ability to exercise strong judgement, initiative and maintain the highest level of professionalism and discretion at all times.
You will have sound experience in the Microsoft Office suite, and ability to work across a range of technology systems, databases and platforms. Experience using Reckon Hosted is desirable, but not essential.
