With branches in Rockhampton, Mackay and Barcaldine and a site office in Emerald, the Transport and Main Roads Program Delivery and Operations (PDO) Central Queensland Region (CQ Region) looks after 9076km of state-controlled roads and about 1510km of the National Road Network. This role will contribute to the development and delivery of the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment
Program (QTRIP).
The CQ Region covers an area of about 604,824km2, approximately 34.9% of Queensland. Its landscape ranges from beautiful coastal areas adjoining the Great Barrier Reef and rainforests to the rugged outback with breathtaking rock formations. The region has an estimated residential population of 422,141 people.

In the role of Project Manager, you will plan, coordinate, and manage the concept planning, development, and implementation phases of the nominated road infrastructure project/s to ensure completion in accordance with required timeframes, cost, quality, and service standards.
Accountabilities include:
• Manage the concept planning, project design, development, and implementation phases of the project/s in close liaison with advisors and other key stakeholders.
• Identify and recommend the necessary internal and external expertise to deliver project requirements, including advising on the selection, engagement, and procurement of consultants.
• Manage the project team, consultants, and contractors to ensure all members are appropriately skilled and utilised, and monitor and report on project progress against predetermined time, cost, and quality specifications
• Prepare and deliver submissions and reports relating to planning and technical issues, and identify appropriate mitigation strategies to overcome problems or obstacles related to the project/s.
• Investigate and resolve complex civil construction issues associated with the project to improve overall performance and ensure value for money.
• Contribute to public consultation activities and ensure that effective liaison is undertaken with community, local governments, and other major stakeholders
