As our business continues to grow, we’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Trainee Building Certifier.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to start a rewarding career in the building certification industry — right here in the Northern Rivers. You’ll work closely with our experienced certifiers, learning the ins and outs of building approvals, inspections, and legislation while gaining hands-on experience in the field.

We’ll support you in completing your formal qualification in Building Surveying / Building Certification, providing mentoring and structured on-the-job training.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in reviewing building approval applications and documentation

Conduct on-site building inspections under supervision

Interpret building plans, codes, and compliance requirements

Prepare and manage reports and certification records

Communicate professionally with builders, clients, and local councils

Undertake structured training and study toward professional accreditation

What We’re Looking For

A genuine interest in construction, design, and building compliance

Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn

Good written and verbal communication skills

Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office or similar)

Ability to work independently and as part of a small team

Current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle

Completion of, or willingness to undertake, a relevant qualification in Building Surveying. A background or previous experience in Carpentry or general building would help all candidates
