About the role
We have an opportunity for a Senior Application Developer to be part of our Chief Data Office, Data Science, Technology and Communication Services Command. The Senior Application Developer guides other application developers and leads in the creation of large or complex applications that facilitate the achievement of business outcomes through the use of process and technology.
This role will enable you to use your skills, knowledge, and experience to help the NSW Police Force maximise the value that can be derived from its vast data and information holdings. The role will focus on developing data analytics solutions to enable data-driven decision making at an operational, tactical, and strategic level.
You will develop fit-for-purpose solutions for the business using SQL and Python code, statistics, and advanced analytics on a data analytics platform. You work with stakeholders to understand business needs, analyse requirements, and develop statistics, and analytics tools and solutions, to solve problems and meet the business' requirements.
In this role you will have an opportunity to work on multiple systems, working with various teams across the business. You will need to develop analytics solutions, queries, tools, and reports based on business requirements. Being an exceptional communicator with a curious mindset, you will have an ability to explain technical information to a non-technical audience, map out business requirements, and bring business solutions into reality.
If you are a solid Senior Application Developer with SQL, Python and Data Science experience and are looking to challenge yourself further this role will provide you with the ability to take your skills to the next level. With an opportunity to work on an ambitious ICT transformation program for the NSW Police Force.
