Join Our Web Application Team at eHealth NSW
Be part of a dynamic and purpose-driven team within the Enterprise Services directorate at eHealth NSW. The Web Application team is responsible for designing and delivering intuitive, web-based applications such as the VMoney suite and PMAP. We support key stakeholders including Visiting Medical Officers, HealthShare, Health Agencies, and HETI. Our focus is on building user-friendly solutions that deliver real value to our customers while upholding high standards of service and innovation.
We’re looking for a skilled and motivated developer to join our team, initially contributing to the VCM Pro project. In this role, you’ll work closely with business analysts and designers to translate high-level requirements into technical specifications and build high-quality software components. You'll be responsible for coding, unit testing, configuration, and deployment while following Agile practices and development standards. In this role, you will:
- Develop and maintain robust web applications using Java (8+), Spring Boot, Angular, TypeScript, and related technologies
- Build and support cross-platform mobile solutions using React Native or similar frameworks
- Design and implement scalable RESTful APIs and microservices, integrating with both SQL and NoSQL databases
- Contribute to Agile ceremonies, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality, iterative solutions
- Collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team to solve problems and drive project outcomes
This role is internally referred to as Engineer – DevOps.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
- Proven experience developing robust web and mobile applications using Java (8+), Spring Boot, Angular, TypeScript, and frameworks like React Native
- Strong background in designing scalable RESTful APIs and microservices, with hands-on integration using SQL/NoSQL databases and API gateways (e.g., MuleSoft)
- Solid understanding of Agile delivery practices and a track record of working effectively in cross-functional, collaborative teams
- Experience deploying and managing applications on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as the ELK Stack, Kibana, or OpenSearch for application performance and troubleshooting
- Previous experience in the health industry or a strong understanding of healthcare systems and stakeholder needs is highly regarded
