Essential Qualification

AHP (Allied Health Professional) positions are designed for applicants who hold a Social Work qualification and are eligible for full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).

PO (Professional Officer) positions are open to applicants with qualifications in Community Services, Human Services, Social Sciences, Health, or other related fields.

Income & Benefits

Salary: AHP1: $74,230 (4 year degree) - $86,938 p.a. + 12% super

Exclusive Allowance: Additional 4% for child protection social workers, permanently enshrined in the Enterprise Agreement - making DCP the highest-paying government employer in SA.

Professional Development:

$1,000 PD allowance, increasing incrementally each year

Reimbursement of PD expenses up to $1,000 (AHP1 level)

Support: Access to free counselling and wellbeing services for you and your family.

Additional Allowances
Qualifications Allowance: Available for eligible higher qualifications relevant to the role.

Income
Salary: PO1 - $68,478 - $83,594 p.a. + 12% super

In this role, you will

Undertake case management and assessment to promote the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.

Build relationships with families, carers and service providers to support positive change.

Develop case plans and coordinate services to address identified risks and needs.

Participate in supervision and team discussions to reflect and strengthen your practice.

To be successful
You are passionate about supporting children, young people and families, and you bring a strong sense of empathy and resilience. You are eager to learn and committed to building your knowledge of child development, safety and wellbeing.

You bring the ability to listen, communicate and form meaningful relationships with people from all walks of life. You are organised and willing to learn how to manage competing priorities while developing your professional practice. Most importantly, you want to grow into a skilled Social Worker or Case Manager and create positive change for children and families.
