Join our clients' team as an OHS and Facility Support Officer and play a vital role in ensuring the safe, organised, and efficient operation of the Works Centre facility. You will oversee yard activities, support Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) compliance, and maintain high standards of presentation and functionality to meet Council expectations. Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily operations within the Works Centre yard, including loading and unloading materials
• Induct visitors and contractors, ensuring site safety compliance at all times
• Conduct plant and equipment inspections, routine maintenance checks
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the facility, including wash bay and interceptor systems
• Perform hazard identification, safety audits, and support the implementation of OHS procedures
• Develop, review, and maintain Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
• Foster a safety-first culture by promoting best practices and safety initiatives
• Support emergency management planning and respond effectively when required
• Uphold Council values and contribute to the overall safety and operational excellence of our clients' team

Requirements:

• Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in OHS, facilities, or operational support
• Sound knowledge of OHS/WHS legislation and safety management systems
• Experience in facility, yard, or warehouse operations (local government experience preferred)
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence
• Mandatory forklift and loader licences
• Ability to pass pre-employment assessments, including Police Check and Working with Children Check
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Proactive in identifying and mitigating safety risks
• Skilled in using digital reporting and documentation tools
• Effective communicator, approachable, and collaborative
• Practical problem-solving skills with sound judgement
