We’re searching for both a Senior Sous Chef & CPD / Apprentice who are excited to create seasonal menus, champion fresh regional produce, and shape a modern pub food experience that puts Mansfield on the map as a culinary destination.
You’ll work as part of a small passionate kitchen team, to bring a creative, evolving food vision to life—one that reflects the spirit of the High Country and makes our pub a “must-do” for locals and visitors alike.
About Us: Nestled in the heart of the Victorian High Country, just 2.5 hours from Melbourne, the Mansfield Hotel is more than just a venue—it’s a destination. Surrounded by the natural beauty of Mount Buller, Lake Eildon, and endless trails for hiking, mountain biking, fishing, and camping, we offer the perfect blend of work and play.
Our venue features a vibrant dining experience with 150 seats inside, an additional 150 seats in our outdoor courtyard, two function rooms, a bar, and on-site accommodation. We are open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week, with a variety of events hosted regularly.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare, cook, and present dishes within your assigned section.
• Assist in the development of new menu items.
• Ensure consistency and quality in all dishes.
• Manage inventory and stock control for your section.
• Maintain hygiene, safety, and cleanliness standards in the kitchen.
• Follow food safety regulations and ensure compliance with kitchen policies.
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Requirements:
• Proven experience in a similar role
• Culinary school diploma or relevant cooking certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a team.
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
