Breathe Life Sciences Pty Ltd (a wholly owned subsidiary of ASX listed Bioxyne Limited) is a rapidly growing pharmaceutical product manufacturer located in Meadowbrook, Brisbane.
Due to rapid business expansion, we are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our team full-time at our Meadowbrook location.
The Financial Accountant plays a critical role in supporting the CFO and broader finance team in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance, and continuous improvement across finance operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity of financial data, statutory compliance, and effective business partnering within a dynamic, ASX-listed pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. As a key member of our finance operations, you will ensure accuracy and compliance across payables, receivables, inventory, reporting and tax. Working closely with Finance, Sales, Warehouse and Production teams, you will help maintain efficient financial processes that underpin our success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Accounting & Reporting
Prepare monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annual financial statements for the group, including both management and statutory accounts.
Perform group consolidation activities, including reconciliation of intercompany transactions and foreign exchange accounting.
Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and ASX reporting requirements.
Monthly reconciliation of key financial accounts.
Taxation & Compliance
Prepare and lodge Company Tax, BAS, FBT, and Payroll Tax returns.
Ensure relevant data is captured for tax compliance and filings' purposes.
Maintain compliance with all relevant tax regulations and liaise with external advisors as required.
Payroll & Fixed Assets
Oversee payroll accounting and ensure accurate recording of payroll transactions.
Manage fixed asset registers, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and asset verification.
Process Documentation & System Improvement
Document finance policies, processes, and procedures to support internal controls, accurate reporting, timely month end close and audit readiness.
Drive continual improvement initiatives across finance functions to enhance control, efficiency and accuracy that supports (not slows) business growth.
Business Partnering & Forecasting
Collaborate with business units to improve financial performance and streamline workflows.
Support the preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts, providing insights and variance analysis.
ERP Implementation
Actively participate in the implementation of a new ERP system, contributing to design, testing, and rollout phases.
General Duties
Support AR and AP officers and other teams across the business in transactional and reporting activities.
Assist with audit preparation and liaise with external auditors.
Perform other duties typical of a Financial Accountant as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CA/CPA qualified.
3–5 years' experience in financial accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of Australian tax and accounting standards.
Proficiency in Xero and MS Excel and other MS applications.
Prior experience in Unleased an advantage, with willingness to learn if not held
Experience with financial consolidation and foreign currency.
Experience with ERP systems implementation an advantage.
