Financial Accountant | Global Resources Business | Brisbane CBD

We’re partnering with a large privately owned global resources company operating across the full raw materials supply chain. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hard-working, intelligent, and humble accountant to hone their craft in a complex, fast-moving environment.

You’ll be working closely with the Financial Controller and wider finance team, gaining exposure across multiple functions while supporting month-end reporting and driving process improvement.

The Financial Controller has recently joined this growing resources business and is focused on building a finance function that leads strategy through predictive insights and automated workflows. The company manages complex global transactions, hedging, and business intelligence reporting, and before scaling these areas, he needs a hard-working and intellectually capable accountant to support the core financial accounting responsibilities.

You’ll gain exceptional exposure working with the owners, the board, and a Financial Controller who has led multimillion-dollar mining transactions, built finance functions from the ground up, acquired mines, and worn every commercial hat imaginable. He’s kind, patient, and values-driven, making him an outstanding mentor for someone in the earlier stages of their career.

Key Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end accounts receivable including invoicing, reconciliations, and cash flow monitoring

Assist with the implementation of a new ERP system and the development of Power BI reports, enhancing data integrity, system performance, and overall reporting capability.

Support month-end accounting including journals, balance sheet reconciliations, payroll, and tax lodgements

Assist with financial and management reporting ensuring accuracy and timeliness

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy

Partner with stakeholders across operations and finance to support business objectives

About You

Degree qualified in Accounting, with CA/CPA studies completed or underway

2–4 years’ experience in accounting, business services or audit, ideally working and servicing resources, energy, or heavy industry clientele. If you do not have industry experience, please still apply we're looking for attitude first and foremost!

Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to problem-solving

Confident communicator who enjoys working as part of a collaborative team

Driven to learn, improve, and contribute to a high-performing finance function

The Offer

Salary package $100,000 - $110,000 + super

Brisbane CBD office with opportunity to travel to London, Singapore, Peru, New York.
