The Import Operator is responsible for managing the end-to-end coordination of inbound air freight shipments, ensuring timely clearance and delivery. This role involves working closely with airlines, ground handlers, internal teams, and regulatory authorities to maintain smooth operational flow and provide exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the full import process for air freight shipments, from arrival through to final delivery
• Liaise with airlines, ground handlers, and transport providers to ensure timely cargo release
• Verify and process import documentation, including air waybills, invoices, and packing lists
• Work with customs brokers to ensure accurate and compliant import declarations
• Monitor and update shipment tracking, providing proactive updates to clients
• Process supplier invoices and maintain accurate data within freight management systems
• Ensure compliance with Australian Border Force and Department of Agriculture regulations

Key Experience

• 2–3 years’ experience in air freight import operations is essential
• Experience in sea freight import operations is highly regarded
• Strong knowledge of Australian customs and quarantine processes
• Proficiency in CargoWise1 and/or CyberFreight essential
• Exceptional attention to detail, communication, and multitasking skills
• Customer-focused approach with strong problem-solving ability
