About the Role

The Import Operator will oversee the end-to-end coordination of inbound air freight shipments, ensuring timely clearance and delivery. You’ll work closely with airlines, internal teams, and regulatory bodies to maintain smooth operations while providing outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage import air freight operations from arrival to final delivery
• Liaise with airlines, ground handlers, and transport providers to ensure timely cargo release
• Verify and process import documentation (air waybills, invoices, packing lists)
• Coordinate with customs brokers to ensure accurate and compliant import declarations
• Maintain shipment tracking and update clients on progress or delays
• Process supplier invoices and maintain accurate data in the freight management system
• Ensure compliance with Australian Border Force and Department of Agriculture regulations

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in air freight import operations (essential)
• Previous experience in air freight import operations (desirable)
• Strong knowledge of Australian customs and quarantine processes
• Proficiency with CargoWise1 and/or CyberFreight preferred
• Excellent attention to detail, communication, and multitasking abilities
• Customer-focused approach with strong problem-solving skills
