Aboriginal Community Case Manager – Redress Support Service

About the role
We are offering a fixed term Aboriginal Community Case Manager role in the Redress Support Service team based at our West Leederville office with outreach to RAWA metro locations. The position involves providing case management and counselling support for people considering applying to the National Redress Scheme. The Redress Support Service provides support to individuals who have experienced Institutional Child Sexual Abuse and who are considering making an application for redress. The role is responsible to provide trauma informed support to people throughout the application process including supporting clients during disclosure, assisting clients to prepare their applications, supporting people to access other services, communicating with the National Redress Scheme on behalf of clients and providing counselling support as required.
Skills, experience, and qualifications
A tertiary qualification in social work or psychology or a related field is required.
Capacity to work within a trauma informed framework, to provide counselling and case management is required.
Knowledge of institutional abuse and childhood sexual abuse and an understanding of working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and of culturally sensitive practice is highly favourable.
Current Western Australian driver’s license, Western Australian Government National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check are essential.
The successful candidate will have a desire to support people who have experienced disadvantage and understand social justice.
