Are you a dynamic health and fitness professional ready to lead a high-performing team in a vibrant, community-focused environment? The National Centre of Indigenous Excellence (NCIE) is looking for a Health & Fitness Coordinator, part-time for a fixed term of 12 months, to take charge of our Health & Fitness division and drive operational excellence, membership growth, and staff development.

About the Role
Reporting to the Fitness & Aquatics Manager, you will:
Lead and develop a team of Health & Fitness staff, including Group Fitness Instructors, Personal Trainers, and Coordinators.
Deliver high-quality health and fitness programs and step in to train clients as required.
Drive membership growth, retention, and reactivation strategies.
Manage daily operations, staff rosters, timetables, and reporting.
Collaborate on marketing initiatives, events, and communications to maximise community engagement.
Ensure a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for all members and guests.
You’ll be instrumental in shaping NCIE’s Health & Fitness experience, mentoring staff, and contributing to strategic initiatives that support our mission and values.
About You
To thrive in this role, you will bring:
Qualifications: Certificate IV in Fitness (or equivalent), CPR (HLTAID001), First Aid (HLTAID003), NCC and WWCC.
Proven experience in leading fitness teams and delivering training in a health and fitness environment.
Strong understanding of membership growth, retention, and community engagement.
Excellent communication, leadership, and people management skills.
A proactive approach to WHS, risk management, and operational excellence.
Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and respect for cultural knowledge.
