About the Role

Carers Australia has an opportunity for an experienced and skilled Senior Management Accountant to join our team on a part-time basis (70 hours per month).

Reporting to the National Director Corporate, you will:

Manage all aspects of the organisation’s accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and financial planning

Managing and preparing financial reporting including management reports

Develop budgets, forecasts and other financial reports that inform governance and operations activities

Support audit activities

Provide advice and counsel to the CEO in relation to financial performance, budgeting, financial position and future cash flow requirements

Support the Executive leadership team with advice around project budgets

To be considered for this position you will have:

CA/CPA qualifications with experience in complex, multi-funder environments.

Proven record of delivering timely and accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and audit within a regulatory framework.

Demonstrated experience advising Executive teams and Boards, including preparation of strategic financial analysis and business case modelling.

Advanced knowledge of accounting standards, internal controls, systems and continuous improvement methodologies.

Exposure to acquittal processes for Government funders.

Demonstrated experience in tendering for new business and negotiating and managing contracts.

Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data for non- financial audiences.

You will be rewarded with an attractive salary of $130,000 plus Super (Pro Rata). You will have access to salary packaging.
