About the opportunity:
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Assessment Officer where you'll coordinate and lead exploration program assessments of sensitive and complex nature in accordance with legislative requirements.
In this role you will:
Coordinate and lead the assessment of complex applications and programs related to the mineral resources sector and any other areas deemed relevant.
Provide leadership and mentorship in relation to sensitive or complex assessments.
Manage assessments through the legislated process, engaging industry, Government technical experts and community as required.
Coordinate and lead compliance monitoring activities to ensure exploration operations are effectively regulated and are compliant with legislation requirements.

Key Selection Criteria:

Demonstrates high level of experience in the interpretation and application of legislation, associated policies, and procedures.
Demonstrated high level of experience undertaking or assessing environmental impact assessments.
Knowledge of assessment and regulatory methods to monitor compliance with legislative obligations.
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to use a collaborative and consultative communication style.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of people, building productive working relationship with peers, other work colleagues and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Essential: Degree in Science, Environmental Management or Engineering related to the resources industry.
Remuneration:
PO3 salary range $99,788 - $105,495 + superannuation
Full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week
