A permanent full-time opportunity has become available with Blue Dog Training, an award-winning apprenticeship training provider in Construction and Engineering. Join an established team of very successful trainers (all experienced tradespeople) that share a passion for helping employers to pass on their skills to the next generation.
This is a fantastic opportunity to move off the tools whilst still being involved in the engineering trades and working with a fantastic crew of like-minded tradespeople.
This opportunity is ideal for a:
Trade qualified Fitter and Turner Ideally dual traded as a Boilermaker or interested in becoming dual traded.
Someone who has experience sharing their knowledge with apprentices, either on a worksite or in a training environment
Patient and engaging communicator that is keen to support people to learn and achieve their best.
Attitude and personality (along with practical experience on the tools) are a priority for this position (over formal training experience/qualifications) and our client will support your career development with qualifications to become a recognised Trainer / Assessor (if you do not currently possess a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment) or to upgrade your trade to dual trade.
Blue Dog Training is committed to facilitating safe, supportive and friendly environments where children and young people are valued and actively participate in Vocational Education and training (VET) courses. Additionally, applicants must be able to provide at least one referee that can confirm their commitment to child safety and wellbeing values and standards.
If successful, you will need to enroll in and complete in a reasonable time frame the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Providing ongoing coaching, mentoring and guidance to apprentices to ensure positive progress and outcomes (including on-site training and practical assessment).
Explaining processes (including online training to supplement on-the-job training) and answering questions.
Applying your expert and pragmatic judgement to assess apprentice competency (against the unit of competency guidelines and applicable standards).
Maintaining efficient and effective filing and records management to meet all audit requirements, and organisational policies and procedures.
Providing your input (as part of the training team) to support the continual development and enhancement of training and assessment resources to support best practice.

Current open drivers licence
Well developed communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills

You will also get a full use of a company vehicle with phone and lap top provided there may also be some opportunities to work from home.
Please submit your application or contact Warren Hermann or Russell Bailey on 3812 2920 to discuss in further detail (or email [email protected]).
