Demeter Grains is a Grain Export and Trading company based in Hope Valley, (Kwinana, Naval Base area). Specialising in exports of Animal feeds, grains and pulses for human consumption.

We are seeking a reliable and motivated person/s to join our Production Team with strong career development opportunities available. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where you'll play a vital role as part of the team.

The position will be responsible for:

Workplace Learning to acquire Authorised Officer Qualification

Learning all areas of production involved with the Unloading trucks, handling grain and export packing

Performing specific export inspection and certification functions in accordance with Australian export legislation.

Maintaining key data sources to ensure smooth container management in our yard.

Vigilant inspection of yard plant & equipment and procedures to maintain a high level of cleanliness.

Supervising the unloading of grain trucks into our silo storage.

Maintaining a safe work environment.

Weighbridge Operations

Spearing and Sampling Incoming Grains Trucks and Outbound Export Containers

Analysing and Identifying grain defects and weed seeds

Record keeping and filing

Liaising with Growers/Clients re quality/issues

Hygiene and Cleanliness of Lab and Sampling areas

Prepare and Dispatch of Freight/TOLL/Samples

Sampling and analysing outgoing samples in accordance to DAWR/CBH/GTA Standards

The successful applicant should have the following skills:

Previous experience in grain farming and/or grain sampling preferred but not essential

Be willing and able to go through the accreditation process and become a Plant Export Authorised Officer.

Strong customer service orientation

Excellent attention to detail

Good communication skills, both written and verbal

Good computer skills especially Microsoft Excel

An ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines

Excellent time management and interpersonal skills

A reliable, committed, self-motivated team player with the willingness to learn as well as being loyal, flexible & hands on

Previous experience in the grain industry will be held in high regard.

Physically fit.

Ability to work autonomously.
