Position Summary

The Stores Officer plays a key role in managing inventory and supporting workshop operations in a fast-paced environment. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager this position is responsible for receiving, handling, storing, and dispatching goods while ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance with all statutory requirements and company Safety, Health, and Environmental standards.

With strong attention to detail and knowledge of workshop processes, the Stores Officer ensures all items are checked on arrival and before despatch, confirming correct products, quantities, packaging, and condition.

The role requires the ability to operate forklifts and a reasonable level of physical fitness, as manual handling and coordination are an essential part of the job.

The objective is to deliver efficient warehouse support that enhances customer satisfaction, strengthens retention, and contributes to business profitability.

Responsibilities

As a Stores Officer, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Unloading and loading goods using a forklift

- Inspecting incoming and outgoing goods to ensure quality and accuracy

- Ensuring customer satisfaction through meticulous checks and timely deliveries

- Unloading sea freight containers and managing stock efficiently

- Conducting regular stock checks to maintain inventory accuracy

- Packing and wrapping pallets securely for safe transportation

- Securing items to pallets to prevent damage during travel

What you’ll need to succeed:

Previous stores or warehouse experience.

Current forklift licence.

Valid Australian driver’s licence (LR/MR a bonus).

Strong work ethic with a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude.

Good communication skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work safely, independently, and as part of a team.

Workplace Health and Safety (OHS)

All staff are expected to take reasonable care for their own health and safety, as well as that of others, and to comply with their legal duty of care. Key responsibilities include:

Follow workplace procedures and instructions to ensure safe work practices.

Maintain tools, equipment, and facilities to support safe operation.
