About the Role:
Reporting to the ICT Manger, the Senior IT Support Officer will service as a key link in DCC’s ICT team, providing advanced technical support, managing Helpdesk escalations, and ensuring smooth daily ICT operations. The role includes systems administration across Microsoft 365, Intune, networking, and endpoint management to keep core systems secure and up to date. You will assist the ICT Manager with major projects such as system migrations, compliance audits, and infrastructure upgrades, contributing technical expertise to digital transformation efforts. Additionally, they mentor junior staff, maintain documentation, and deliver small ICT projects aligned with organisational goals.
Key responsibilities will include:
Resolve escalated ICT issues (Microsoft 365 administration, Intune, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint permissions).
Ensure complex tickets are closed within agreed SLAs. Monitor ticket queues, prioritise workloads, and coach and supervise the Helpdesk Officer.
Promote consistent service standards and customer focus across the team.
Carry out regular ICT admin tasks (licensing, mailbox setups, Intune compliance reports).
Support lifecycle management of laptops, phones, and other devices.
Lead or support small ICT projects (hardware rollouts, user migrations, phone system configurations).
Maintain knowledge base, asset register, and procedure documentation.
Provide operational coverage for ICT Manager during absences.
Support the ICT Manager with operational tasks that underpin cyber security and compliance requirements (ACSC Essential 8, privacy), by maintaining technical controls, testing systems, and preparing reports

Qualifications/Requirements:
ICT qualifications or equivalent experience.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Intune, and Windows environments.
Experience with scripting or automation tools (e.g., PowerShell).
Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
Experience mentoring junior staff or supporting a service desk function.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Working with Children Check or willing to obtain
Satisfactory national police check or willing to obtain
Satisfactory LCS check or willing to obtain
Occasional travel to other DCC locations as needed
