We are seeking an experienced and motivated Head Chef to lead our kitchen team. This is a senior leadership role suited to a Head Chef with proven experience managing busy à la carte kitchen teams, with a strong understanding of kitchen operations, cost control, and a passion for developing people and creating great food.
Working closely with the Food & Beverage Manager, you’ll take ownership of the kitchen’s performance, ensuring quality, consistency, and inspire a culture built on professionalism, accountability, and pride.
Day-to-day focus:
Lead, coordinate, and motivate kitchen staff during prep and service to ensure efficient and consistent operations
Manage kitchen rosters and timesheets, ensuring appropriate coverage and smooth daily operations
Take responsibility for food ordering, stock rotation, and cost control
Mentor and develop chefs, cooks and apprentices through hands-on training and regular feedback
Oversee all aspects of food preparation, presentation, and quality control
Uphold and model strict WHS, food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards
Collaborate with the Food & Beverage Manager to plan menus, deliver objectives, and implement continuous improvement initiatives
To be successful in this role, you will:
Minimum 10 years’ cooking experience and 3+ years in a Head Chef role within a busy à la carte or high-volume kitchen.
Demonstrate proven leadership and people management skills with a collaborative approach
Show strong financial understanding, including cost control, budgeting, and wastage management
Be passionate about food, innovation, and delivering consistently high standards
Have excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills under pressure
Possess a solid understanding of food safety, hygiene, and compliance requirements

Roster expectations:
38-hour per week roster
Being present at the business at key times during restaurant operation, which will include working split shifts, weekends and public holidays.
