About the Role

At Curtin University, we’re committed to creating a smarter, safer, and more connected digital environment. Our Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS) team is seeking a strategic and proactive Manager, IT Asset Management to lead the planning, procurement, and lifecycle management of Curtin’s IT assets.

This is a leadership role that directly influences how technology supports the university’s teaching, research, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the IT Asset Management and Procurement functions, ensuring assets are efficiently acquired, tracked, and maintained throughout their lifecycle.
  • Collaborate closely with the Desktop Services Manager and team to ensure new products adhere to established standards, align with best practice guidelines, and maintain long-term supportability.
  • Oversee the Configuration Management System (CMS) and ensure data integrity within the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
  • Build strong relationships across Curtin’s IT, procurement, finance, and vendor networks to ensure the university’s technology portfolio is managed effectively.
  • Drive continual improvement in processes, systems, and reporting to enhance service delivery and financial efficiency.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Curtin’s Strategic Service Asset and Configuration Management Plan.

Selection Criteria:

  • Extensive experience in IT Asset and Configuration Management, supported by strong leadership expertise (ITIL V3 or ITAM certification desirable).
  • Proven ability to manage IT asset lifecycles and systems with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, using data to drive insight and improvement.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, able to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and vendors at all levels.
  • Outstanding organisational and coordination abilities, managing multiple priorities and vendors in a dynamic environment.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to innovation, continuous improvement, and teamwork.

An understanding of the tertiary education sector and its technology landscape would be advantageous.

Role Requirements:
