 Level 7 - $132,595.68 per annum (including $20,000 Port Hedland Allowance + Housing Allowance)
 Residential Preferred (Hybrid arrangements considered*, WA Preferred)
*Please note with hybrid arrangements the Port Hedland Allowance does not apply and will be offered on a Fixed-Term Contract
The Role
The Town of Port Hedland is seeking a proactive and technically skilled Coordinator - Urban Planning to join our team, reporting directly to the Manager Planning & Economic Development.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering town planning and land administration functions, mentoring staff, and ensuring the local planning framework reflects contemporary best practice.
You will assess development applications, provide expert advice to stakeholders, manage strategic planning projects, and represent the Town in forums such as the Regional Development Assessment Panel and State Administrative Tribunal. This is a senior-level role requiring strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
We're looking for someone with:
- A degree in Urban and Regional Planning (or equivalent).
 - Extensive knowledge of WA planning, land, heritage, and environmental legislation.
 - Strong report writing, stakeholder engagement, and project management skills.
 - Experience in Crown Land matters and strategic planning.
 - A collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.
 - Experience in implementing and reviewing policies, strategies and procedures and industry codes of practice.

Work Related Requirements
The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:
- Degree qualification in Urban and Regional Planning (or equivalent)
 - National Police Clearance
 - Current 'C' class driver's license
 - Rights to work in Australia
