Full Time – Fixed Term
About the role
Elder Rights WA, operating within the Civil Law Division, requires a highly skilled and compassionate Social Worker to join our multidisciplinary team.
Working alongside lawyers within our integrated service delivery model, you will provide specialist social work services to older people experiencing, or at risk of, elder abuse. This includes conducting psychosocial assessments, developing client-centred intervention plans, and working collaboratively to address overlapping legal, social, and health issues.
This is a fixed term appointment from January to 30 June 2026, with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. The role backfills an existing position within a team that is committed to improving outcomes for older Western Australians.
About you
We are looking for a social worker who:
- Demonstrates extensive experience and advanced skills in risk assessment, planning, and intervention with vulnerable client groups.
- Has the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment, collaborating with lawyers and other professionals to support clients with complex needs.
- Communicates with empathy and professionalism and is committed to trauma-informed, client-centred practice.
- Has a sound understanding of community-based advice and support services in Western Australia and experience liaising with stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes for clients.
- Is degree-qualified in Social Work and a member (or eligible for membership) of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Experience working with older people, people with impaired capacity, or in contexts involving family conflict, coercion, or financial abuse will be highly regarded.
