Systems Accountant (Xero) | Brisbane CBD | $85K + Super | Hybrid Flexibility

Are you an experienced Accountant with a passion for systems, problem-solving and process improvement? We’re partnering with a highly regarded professional services business based in the Brisbane CBD who are looking for a Systems Accountant to join their collaborative finance team.

This permanent role offers hybrid working arrangements after probation and the option to work full time or 4 days per week (0.8 FTE) — perfect for someone seeking balance without compromising on career growth.

About the Role

In this role, you’ll take ownership of system implementations, data transitions and process improvements across a diverse client base. You’ll be responsible for setting up and maintaining high-quality accounting systems, ensuring data integrity, and supporting teams through periods of change or growth.

This position suits someone who enjoys both the technical and operational sides of accounting — someone who’s equally comfortable digging into data as they are working closely with internal stakeholders and clients.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and manage end-to-end financial system conversions and integrations
• Oversee accurate data migration with minimal disruption to operations
• Configure and refine systems such as Xero, to optimise performance
• Assist with onboarding new clients and preparing historical data for clean transitions
• Support reconciliations, catch-up accounting, and process clean-ups
• Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to identify and deliver improvements
• Provide training and guidance on system use and best practice

What We’re Looking For

• Degree-qualified in Accounting, Finance or a related area
• Strong technical understanding of Xero and associated platforms
• Demonstrated experience in system conversions or data migrations
• Meticulous attention to detail with a proactive and organised approach
• Excellent communicator who enjoys working with both internal teams and clients
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
