Roster: Lunch and Dinner only
Level: Level 1 to 5 – Hospitality Award
Remuneration: Starting minimum $31.19 (Level 1 HIGA) up to $37.35 (Level 5 HIGA) plus penalties
Accommodation: Shared staff accommodation is available for a fixed price per week. All bills included (electricity, water and wi-fi). Located across the road from Cylinder Beach, walking distance to the hotel.

About the Roles

The Beach Hotel Stradbroke Island is reopening soon after a major transformation, with a completely new fit-out and refreshed offering across all areas of the venue. This is an exciting opportunity to join a passionate team at the beginning of something truly special. Set in one of the most stunning beachside locations in the country, this is your chance to live and work in paradise.

We are now recruiting for a range of hospitality roles in our kitchen team including:

Kitchen Hands

Cooks

Chef de Partie

You will be working under the guidance of the Head Chef and be responsible for a range of duties including food preparation and presentation, supporting fellow kitchen staff, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring high standards are met throughout service.

Required Skills and Experience

Previous experience in a similar environment is essential

Certificate III or IV in Professional Cookery (desirable for chef roles)

Strong attention to food preparation, presentation, and quality

Flexible availability across a rotating roster including weekends and nights

Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team

Understanding of food hygiene and OH&S procedures

The Venue

The Beach Hotel is an undisputed Stradbroke Island treasure. Overlooking the crystal-clear waters of Cylinder Beach, it has long been known as one of the most breathtaking beachfront venues in the country. Currently undergoing a full-scale renovation and set to reopen between late November and early December, the hotel is being refreshed and upgraded across all areas. This is a bold new chapter for a beloved venue - now more vibrant, cutting-edge, and unforgettable than ever before. The hotel features 15 accommodation rooms, a bistro, multiple bars, an upper deck and lower deck, function spaces, a gaming room with 15 EGMs, two detached bottle shops on the island, and an on-site drive-thru bottle shop.
